The Abdominal Wall Hernia and Rehabilitation Clinic, aims to work as a multidisciplinary group in order to provide comprehensive care to the patient with hernia or any other problem related to the abdominal wall. The group is composed of a plastic surgeon, a surgeon specializing in Obesity Surgery and the Nutrition and Physiotherapy team of the Clínica Bíblica Hospital.

It is very important to us to work with patients on the prevention of hernia; therefore, we present ourselves as a support group for all the surgical specialties of the Clínica Bíblica Hospital, such as: peripheral vascular, gynecology-obstetrics, general surgery, surgical oncology, urology..

Consultation:

1. Patients with any abdominal wall hernia, are assessed by the Hernia specialist:

  1. Umbilical hernia
  2. Epigastric hernia
  3. Inguinal hernia
  4. Incisional hernia
  5. Any abdominal wall tumor

2. Postpartum patients are assessed by a plastic surgeon:

  1. Flaccidity of the abdominal wall
  2. Diastasis of the recti muscles (separation of the recti muscles secondary to pregnancy)
  3. Problems with surgical wound healing (keloid, scar hypertrophy)

3. Patients with other abdominal wall problems such as:

  1. Colostomy
  2. Ileostomy
  3. Infections of surgical wounds
  4. Tumors

4. Patients with obesity and hernia are assessed by bariatric surgeons.
