Admission


It is in charge of coordinating the admission and exit of the patient from the Clínica Bíblica Hospital, with the corresponding management of the information for the preparation of the clinical file.

Of the most important services at a general level, are the following:

In order to provide you with a high-quality service, Hospital Clínica Bíblica is aware of your needs and concerns and presents you with this basic guide to answer the main questions that arise at the time of admission.

Basic requirements for admission:

  • Carry out the pre-admission at least 3 days before the date established for the procedure to be carried out.
  • It is recommended that, on the day of the procedure, you enter accompanied either by a family member or a person you trust.
  • Present an identification document (identity card or passport), without this, we will not be able to proceed with your admission to the Hospital.
  • You must present the hospitalization order issued by the doctor in charge on the day of admission.
  • On the day of the intervention, you must arrive at least 3 hours before your procedure.
  • You must make an advance payment at the time of admission. This amount varies according to the type of procedure, it will be indicated to you at the time of your pre-admission.
  • Please do not bring valuables or cash with you, unless the person accompanying you is responsible for your belongings.
  • If you are coming for a surgical procedure, you should not eat food for 12 hours before the procedure.
  • Before the procedure, contact your doctor to find out if you need to have any special premedication, or if you need to bring any specific tests with you.

Duties and rights of the patient

Rights:

  • To receive clear, concise and opportune information about the rights and duties of the patient, and the correct way to comply with them.
  • To be informed of the name, last names, professional level, and position of the health personnel attending the patient.
  • To receive the necessary information and based on that information to give or not to give authorization to receive a determined medical procedure or treatment.
  • To receive without any distinction dignified treatment: respect, consideration and amiability.
  • To receive medical attention with efficiency and due diligence.
  • To be attended without delay in emergency situations.
  • To be attended punctually at the established hour of the appointment except in justifiable situations of unforeseen causes or force majeure.
  • To refuse to be examined or administered treatment, except in exceptional or emergency situations, subject to law, concerning public health, the common good or the right of third parties. In case of refusal there must be written proof.
  • To sign a consent form for surgery, anesthesia, or other procedures and a compliance commitment. If the patient is unconscious, unable to express his will or is underage, a legal representative must sign for him.
  • To accept or refuse proposals to participate in clinical investigation studies.
  • To have access to his clinical health record and request a copy. Third parties may be authorized with respective legal authorization.
  • To receive attention in a clean, safe and comfortable environment.
  • To ensure the confidential nature of his clinical health record and all information relative to his illness, except as subject to law, when notice must be given to health officials.
  • To indicate verbally and in writing his willingness to donate his organs for therapeutic purposes upon his death.
  • To file claims when his rights have been impaired.
  • To use his personal effects during hospitalization, subject to hospital rules and without violating the rights of other patients.
  • To receive a detailed billing statement with an explanation of all expenses incurred in his treatment.
  • To receive visits from family members or friends, if so desired, provided that his health condition permits it and within the established visiting hours.

Duties

  • To provide the most complete information possible in regards to the state of the patient´s health, previous illnesses, hospitalizations, medicines or other conditions relating to his health.
  • To participate in decisions about the treatment and the follow-up of instructions about his healthcare plan.
  • To have knowledge and understanding of possible occurrences in case of refusal to follow the instructions for healthcare.
  • To talk with his physician or other healthcare specialist in case he wishes to change doctors, specialists or hospital.
  • To ask his doctor or healthcare specialist questions when the information or instructions are not clearly understood.
  • To show respect and consideration to the staff that provides help in his care.
  • To follow the internal regulations with respect to the rules about smoking, noise and visits.
  • To understand that the healthcare services which he receives must be paid for, and he must be willing to comply with the payment process of the established accounts.
  • To communicate in the briefest time possible any inconvenience in the cancellation of services received.
