The specialty of Orthopedics and Traumatology deals with injuries of the musculo-skeletal system (sports injuries, diseases of the spine, joint injuries), with the exception of the skull.

Orthopedists are surgeons; therefore they operate on this type of problem. Within this specialty, there are sub-specialties. At the Clinica Bíblica Hospital, we have orthopedists dedicated to treating the spine, replacing joints and treating sports injuries.

Traumatology is a specialty which is dealt with by all the orthopedists; therefore we offer our service in the Emergency Service where 40% of the consultations are related to Traumatology and there is individual follow-up.

Some procedures which are undertaken by the orthopedists include: joint replacement of the hip, knee, and shoulder, endoscopic surgery of the knee, shoulder and ankle. During the consultation, some orthopedists administer the system of diagnostic micro-arthroscopy to the knee (Inerview).
