Phonoaudiology covers the communication needs that exist in our population, pediatric as well as adult, through processes of promotion-evaluation and intervention diagnosis of functional or organic alterations that affect the normal communication process: in the vocal level, as well as in cognitive processes and in oral or written language.

It is vitally important to implement the professional services in each discipline (health and education), through inter and intradisciplinary work group (Neurology-Pediatrics-Otolaryngology- Gerontology-Dentistry).

The different intervention areas of Phonoaudiology are:

  • Breathing, Relaxation, Language (different sub-areas), Sense perception articulation (stimulate the different input and learning channels), voice, psychomotor skills, hearing, cognition (read-written-mathematical calculation-memory- tempo-spatial location).

Likewise, attention is given to disorders associated with or without pathologies of degenerative type like: dysphasia, aphasias, eating disorders associated with disglossia, learning disorders, general developmental disorders, disorders associated with hearing deficit (hearing loss –Anacusia or Deafness).
