The cardiology service of the Clínica Bíblica Hospital, as well as offering a differentiated service due to the quality of medical assistance, has renewed its equipment for performing eco-cardiograms, which now have available the last generation digital technology, allowing the integration of cardiovascular images to achieve a more accurate diagnosis.

In this service, a group of excellent specialists work on cardiac and vascular ultrasound, a fundamental condition for the comprehensive study of cardiovascular pathology. All of this, thanks to permanent training, years of instruction, international courses, daily work and updating courses.

Cardiovascular Ultrasound in real time

The methodology of the new equipment has a transesophageal probe that allows performing 3D ultrasounds in order to obtain images in movement, in real time, of the structure of the heart and blood vessels, achieving a faster processing and a greater number of calculations.

Through the introduction of the probe, which is a non-invasive, non-painful, and risk-free diagnostic method, the specialists can come close to a few millimeters from the heart from the digestive tube and obtain information with extraordinary accurateness, through the images of the dubious structures or of highly complex pathologies such as some valves, masses, among others. Another advantage of the equipment is that it allows orienting more effectively the surgeons, in case any surgical procedure is required.

The tridimensional technology of the equipment offers the specialist a more precise and exhaustive analysis of the structures that make up the heart, since it clearly highlights the more tenuous and delicate structures of the heart, making them perceptible with great sharpness. This allows observing everything that is affecting this area such as masses, orifices in the heart or valves, as well as the size of these irregularities.
