San José, Costa Rica. February, 2021.
The Clínica Bíblica Hospital will be providing COVID19 testing to people who need to travel to the United States or other countries where passengers must prove their negative Covid 19 test results. The hospital facilitates compliance with this health requirement necessary to enter the destination country.
This specific requirement established in the case of U.S. authorities is in force as of January 26, 2021. It also demands that the test be performed 72 hours before boarding the flight.
For the detection of Covid 19 in national and foreign patients, the Clínica Bíblica Hospital strictly follows the protocols and regulations stipulated by the Ministry of Health for the detection of cases in national and international patients.
The tests authorized by the United States are the PCR and the antigen tests. The latter was approved by the Costa Rican Ministry of Health on January 18, 2021.
The antigen test is now available 24 hours a day, every day of the week, at both facilities: San José and Santa Ana.
This test detects proteins related to the virus. For this purpose, a nasal swab is used to collect fluids from the nose just like the PCR tests.
Results are quick and are delivered within two hours. The antigen test should be performed at least 72 hours in advance.
The price is ¢30,000 VAT included.
The PCR test, also known as the molecular test, detects the genetic material of the COVID-19 virus using a laboratory technique called polymerase chain reaction (PCR). A fluid sample is collected from a nasal or throat swab. Results are ready in 36 hours. It is performed 24 hours a day at both San Jose and Santa Ana locations every day. The price is ¢55,120 VAT included.
