Hospital Clínica Bíblica

The network of services of Clínica Bíblica Hospital, both the San José and Santa Ana hospitals are accredited for their clinical excellence by the Joint Commission International (JCI), the most prestigious certification and medical care quality improvement organization in the world.

Clínica Bíblica Hospital was the first healthcare institution in the Central American region to achieve this certification and to be part of an organization such as JCI, which groups hospitals of clinical excellence worldwide. The institution has strived to maintain this gold seal for fifteen consecutive years and has successfully passed the exhaustive evaluations every three years. This accreditation is the most demanding in the healthcare sector and its achievement demonstrates Clínica Bíblica's strong commitment to providing safe and effective patient care at all of its locations.

The world's most prestigious accreditation in the hospital sector accredits 1,200 standards, bases its entire evaluation system on scientific evidence and recommendations from international experts on best practices, imbuing the organization with a work culture focused on patient safety that involves all areas, processes and professionals of the institution.

The requirement of this accreditation stems from its cross-cutting nature. It is the entire organization that must adopt the methodology, integrating the culture of quality and patient safety in each of the activities carried out daily, in addition to consciously participating in a process of constant improvement.

What are the benefits of JCI accreditation?

2. Promotes a culture of patient safety:

The standards especially highlight content focused on patient safety and risk reduction in clinical and care processes.

3. Evaluates all aspects of management:

Guides all phases of management toward efficiency and best practices, from clarity of leadership responsibilities to critical processes in organizational management or strategic planning.

4. It is an important improvement tool for the organization:

The process of preparation for accreditation constitutes an excellent horizon for the development of the institution. It represents a common improvement project for managers and professionals that is a catalyst for internal changes.

5. It offers international recognition of the care provided by the hospital:

Accreditation by the Joint Commission International publicly demonstrates that the health care center meets the quality requirements of the most technically competent institution in the sector. This accreditation is an indisputable recognition of international prestige.
