An accident happens in a second, and that is why it is so important not to neglect the little ones even for a second. In case of accident, take the baby as soon as possible to a medical center.

To protect them means life for them. These are some recommendations:

• Protect the power outlets. In case, the child suffers an electric shock from an outlet, check him out for possible burns and should he/she experience a cardiac event, provide CPR if you are trained. Should he/she suffer a seizure, keep the airway permeable.
• Place bars that will not allow access to stairs.
• Close furniture doors firmly and do not leave tablecloths hanging on the tables.
• Do not leave dangerous substances or small objects where children can reach them.
• Avoid caustic substances like potash or that kind of drain cleaners, but what is most important is that if you use any cleaning product, store it out of the reach of children. Cleaning with water is enough.
• Avoid aggressive pets such as “wild” dog breeds or other animals such as cats or hamsters that may be aggressive.
• Be careful with holes or swimming-pools.

In case the little one suffers from an intoxication with any product, consult as soon as possible with a physician. It is important to take the product with which he was intoxicated to determine the composition and offer the adequate assistance.

Generally, all accidents should be assessed depending on their severity. If it is about falls what is most common is observation at home as long as the person has not lost consciousness or if there is no important swelling.
